Stretching Your Patterned Papers This is a great new tchnique for "stretching" your patterned papers to use on a 12 x 12 album page. Credit for this great technique goes to Kathy Roth of Scrapbook Station in Simi Valley, CA (SBStation@aol.com) 1) Choose a patterned paper with a frame design and die cuts that coordinate with the paper. I choose Yellow Brick Road Paper and Ellison die cuts for this project.
2) Run the patterned paper through the Xyron machine to apply an adhesive backing to the paper if you have a Xyron available. 3) Cut through the frame on the 8 inch side of the paper and then cut the middle section of the paper out.
4) Save the middle for another project. After you have cut out the middle section cut through the other 8 inch side of the frame.
5) Insert a die cut into each of the two gaps that you have created by cutting the frame. Play around with the design and see how it looks best. you amy want the die cuts to cover the edges of the paper or you may want to artistically cut the paper to overlap onto the die cut shape. In the example below, I show both methods.
6) After you are certain of the placement, remove the Xyron backing to reveal the adhesive, or apply the adhesive of your choice and place the die cuts on the page.
7) Add photos!
